Maria earned her Bachelor of Arts in Economics at the University of Michigan and her Master’s of Science in Real Estate from the University of Florida. During her time at UF, she co-founded the University’s first Women’s Real Estate Society, a professional development organization for women seeking a career in commercial real estate.

Prior to founding UpRiver, Maria spent 3 years working in real estate development at the nation’s top real estate developer of student housing, and was responsible for identifying residential development opportunities, underwriting new opportunities, working with land sellers, and assisting in securing capital from debt and equity partners. She helped grow the company’s build-to-rent platform, which cultivated her interest in providing affordable rental housing to aspiring home owners, particularly in the sunbelt region.

Maria assisted on over $1B in transaction volume and helped deliver over 500 units of residential housing in markets across the United States.

Maria founded UpRiver to provide exceptional service to real estate investors, and work alongside investors to grow her hometown, Jacksonville, Florida.
